Free helpline for separating dads
Free, 24/7. General information only, not legal advice. In an emergency call 000.
Fair Go Dads uses an automated AI assistant. It gives general information only.
Privacy
We aim to follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This website
Right now this website has no advertising trackers or ad pixels, no cookies and no forms. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and to keep the site running. If we decide to add analytics or advertising pixels, we will update this page before they are added.
An automated AI service
Calls to the helpline are answered by an automated AI assistant, not a person. It gives general information only, not legal advice.
To run the service we use outside providers, who may store or process information overseas, including in the United States:
- Twilio (phone calls)
- ElevenLabs (the voice assistant, call recordings and transcripts)
- an AI model provider in the United States (to generate the assistant's replies)
Online chat is not available yet.
Recordings and sensitive information
Calls are recorded, and you are told this at the start of each call. Recordings and transcripts are reviewed to check accuracy and safety and to improve the service. Personal details are removed from review notes.
What you tell us may include sensitive information, such as your health, mental health or family violence. At the start of each call the assistant will tell you the call is recorded and that what you share may be sensitive. If you keep going with the call, you agree to us collecting that information so we can give you general information and keep the service safe. You don't have to give your name or any identifying details, and you can hang up at any time.
You can ask us to delete your call details at any time (see "Asking to be forgotten" below). Fair Go Dads is not a law firm, and nothing said on a call is legal advice.
What we store
- Call recordings and transcripts.
- Your phone number (caller ID), as part of the call record.
We keep only what is needed. Records are stored securely and are not published.
How long we keep it
Recordings and transcripts are kept for 12 months (365 days) and then deleted automatically. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.
Asking to be forgotten
Say "forget me" on a call, or email us. On a call, the assistant will pass your request on. A person then deletes your record, recordings and transcripts, and we note only that a deletion happened.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct your information, or make a privacy complaint. Contact: help@fairgodads.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). You can find out more about your privacy rights at oaic.gov.au.
